Who should attend?
The Excellence in Volunteer Management Training Series is for anyone in nonprofit, public, or
faith-based institutions who has responsibility for recruiting, coordinating, supporting or guiding volunteers.

Expand your knowledge, earn a certificate of completion

• Leverage resources by engaging volunteers as strategic assets
• Develop a comprehensive volunteer program
• Learn leading practices and latest in volunteer resource management

Areas of training include:

• Planning a Volunteer Program: Conducting a basic needs assessment; creating volunteer position descriptions; and    developing a purpose statement, policies and budget
• Recruiting and Placing Volunteers: Developing volunteer recruitment strategies and messages; accessing underutilized    volunteers; interviewing and screening techniques to match volunteers with positions.
• Orienting and Training Volunteers: Assessing training needs; building and delivering effective training sessions
• Supervising and Evaluating Volunteers: Defining and communicating expectations; supervising and recognizing people    with different motivations; assessing volunteer satisfaction, management, and outcomes.
